“Great pub among the pubs,… and my husband and I are pub-lovers. We tried the surf & turf and the local beer. Excellent. So was the bartender – nice girl with very nice attitude and not shy of joking. The pub: old (as it should be), cosy and clean interior; located in the nice looking Parsons street. My husband will work for half a year in Banbury (and Oxford) – we will come back here all the time! That’s a promise! A pub as a pub should be!.”

“Went there in March 14 to have a meal to celebrate our son’s 16th birthday with friends and family. Was an excellent evening from the way they laid out the tables in the Globe room for us, to the excellent staff (thank you) and not least of all to the very good food that we all ate. It was that good that we are just about to book up for another gathering there for a Mothers Day lunch. What more can you say? Excellent is the word.”

“Last Saturday we went to Banbury. We had our lunch in the Reindeer Inn. What a lovely place, staff were very welcoming and the food was brill loads of meat and very well cooked. I’d say perfect, congratulations to your chef and all the staff. Will definately be back early spring.”
“I used to drink here as a young man, and have not been here for 40 years! Was delighted to find it had not changed one bit. Log fire, no music or slot machines great beer and great home made made food. Have the special – bubble and squeak with hand cut ham and a fried egg – wonderful. Congratulations to Hook Norton Brewery and the current tenants.”
“Visiting my elderly mother in Banbury just before Christmas, we needed somewhere for a traditional lunch and decided on the Reindeer, which we knew had been a hostelry in the town for centuries.
The pub was busy, so we took a table in the back room – wonderful oak panelling and a history which encompasses Oliver Cromwell, pretty traditional! I had scampi and chips, while my partner and mother opted for steak and ale pies. We were close to the kitchen so we could hear how busy they were, given the time of year. But there was no trace of panic – just a busy, organised kitchen and waiting staff making sure the food was going out.
Our meals arrived very promptly – generous portions and tasted great. Friendly service when somewhere is that busy says a lot.
The next time I visit, I know that we’ll be going back to the Reindeer for lunch again”
